Grandma’s Visit. March 1, 2009

My mom came to visit this week, and while I know she loves me and enjoys spending time with me, lets face it she really comes to see and spoil Ellie.  Days one and two of the visit consisted mostly of shopping for a new wardrobe for The Bean.  Thanks to my mom and Keith’s parents we rarely have to buy Ellie any clothes, which is AWESOME.  On day three my mom offered to watch Ellie so that Keith and I could go out to dinner, just the two of us.  We had a great night, and considered going to a movie, but both said that we would probably fall asleep in the middle of it.  Obviously our wild nights of staying up late are over, I mean I am going to be 30 next month.  On the last day, yesterday, Ellie came down with a nasty cold, oh and by the way she woke up with pink eye on Friday for the fifth time.  So Saturday we spent most of the day at home except for going out for frozen yogurt for lunch, which I know is not a nutritionally sound choice for a two year old’s lunch, but it did make her fever go down, and it’s better than the time that I let her eat frozen corn kernels for dinner, because that was what she wanted.  Saturday night we went to dinner, which Ellie barely survived.  By the time we got home she was asking to be put to bed.  Since our place is tiny, when she visits my mom sleeps in Ellie’s room and Ellie sleeps in her pack n’ play in our room.  No big deal except that when she is sick Ellie snores like a 600 lb. man.  I actually had to cover my head with another pillow just to drown out the noise and get some sleep.  In all it was a good visit, and I love having my mom come hang out, but I am happy that now I get to go back to going to the bathroom and not having to close the door.
