The Bean Is Sick. December 18, 2008

If you are a parent then you know that there is nothing sadder than a sick child.  This morning Keith and I were getting ready for work and he offered to help me get out the door with Ellie-Bean.  I asked if he could get her dressed, and when we went in to get her up she started coughing, didn’t want to get out of bed, and she looked awful.  Being the mean parent that I am I figure that if she is not vomiting then she is well enough to go to daycare.  Keith however is the logical one who immediately said that there was no way she was going to go.  He stayed home with her all day, and even ended up taking her to the doctor when her fever went up and she was listless. It turns out that she has an ear infection…again, and might have strep throat but the doctor wasn’t sure because Ellie wouldn’t open her mouth.  We’ve been trying to give her fluids, but she doesn’t want to drink anything and right now she is asleep as she has been for most of the day.  I got my shift covered tomorrow so that I could be on baby watch.  I have a great night of waking up every four hours to check her temperature and trying to give her more Motrin ahead of me.  Please pray for The Bean.
