My Husband “The Revolutionary”. September 17, 2008

No, I don’t mean “Revolutionary” as in Revolution Church.  I mean “Revolutionary” as in Revolutionary War.  I think this picture makes him look a little like John Adams.  All he needs is to dye it white.  Now that he can wear it in a ponytail that is almost as long as his daughter’s, is it time for him to cut his hair yet?

Anyone Else Know Who She Is, Or Is It Just Me? September 15, 2008

So I’m pretty sure we saw James King on our visit to the magic kingdom on Sunday.  I told Keith who she was and asked him if he saw her.  He said “Oh yeah, I saw her.  She was looking at me.  I think she was checking me out”.

Between the Counting Crows concert on Friday night, driving to San Bernardino on Saturday to have dinner with family, and then meeting up with them at Disneyland on Sunday, we were all beat.

Everyday Someone Finds Me By Searching For George Hamilton. September 14, 2008

Filed under: I stole this idea from another blog, I wonder, Why?!?!, famous people, really? — lianadickson @ 12:00 pm

Thanks to this post, every single day (and I am not over exaggerating, literally EVER SINGLE DAY) someone finds me because they are looking for info/pictures of George Hamilton.  I hope they are not disappointed in what they find.

Hello Potentially Stressful Situation, My Name Is Liana. September 14, 2008

Filed under: I'm so generous, work — lianadickson @ 11:55 am

I haven’t done a lot of blogging lately, if you haven’t already noticed. It’s not because nothing has been going on, it’s just that the thought of sitting in front of the computer has not sounded very exciting.  Last week I had my yearly review with my boss, and at one point in my review he told me that he didn’t think that I had yet reached my full potential.  Don’t they always say that?  He said that he thought I was capable of bringing my store to a whole new level.  I told him that there where definitely times, like now, when I feel like I am on auto-pilot at work and I am a little bored because the job feels easy now.  I also told him later after the review that if he needed me to help out in any way with another store in our district that just lost their manager to let me know.  The next day I got a phone call from my boss asking me for a favor.  He says “How do you feel about double store management?”  Basically he wants me to run both my store and this other store until they find a replacement manager.  Lesson to be learned here, Be careful what you volunteer for.  On top of that, I find out that the employees at the other store are super unhappy about their old manager leaving and may greet me at the door on Monday with flaming swords.  Pray that I live through these next few weeks without ripping my hair out, or going completely gray.

If One More Person Tells Me That I Need To Read “The Shack”, I Just Might Loose It. September 10, 2008

Filed under: books, family, keith, makes me want to scream! — lianadickson @ 8:44 pm

The first time I heard about this book was when we were visiting Keith’s parents and his dad talked about it several times during the week.  Since then I have formed the opinion that it is quickly taking over the world, and will soon become required reading in all churches.  Our friend Chris who Keith carpools with started reading it, then Keith started reading it, then he of course told me that I needed to read it.  He even said that as the spiritual leader of our family that it was a book he wanted me to read.  To which I said that I don’t read books, I read magazines.  I know that makes me sound like an idiot, but at least I’m an honest idiot.  Then last night we had a friend over who brought up that he too was reading the book, and he and Keith started discussing it.  That was when I excused myself.  Also, my assistant manager is reading the book, and he too keeps trying to get me to read it.  Ugh!  Enough already!  The thing is, that if everyone weren’t making such a big freaking deal out of the thing I might actually give it a chance.  But now I have put it in the same category as Facebook, another thing that I refuse to join mostly because Keith wants me to and for some reason he gets super frustrated every time I tell him NEVER.  All this being said, I was one of the last people on the planet to start a blog after months of telling Keith that he would be lame if he started one.  So there is still a chance that I might cave eventually.

It’s A Little Like Living With A Dolphin. September 8, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, keith, makes me want to scream! — lianadickson @ 8:22 pm

A few weeks ago Ellie decided that her favorite thing to do is scream.  Not like a nice little playful scream, but a high pitched, ear drum bursting scream.  I like to think of it as a cross between a dolphin mating call, and what a dog whistle would sound like if I could hear one.  I’m afraid that if she doesn’t give this up soon then Keith and I will be deaf in a matter of months.  We probably should have pushed that baby sign language a little more since we might wish that she could teach it to us someday.

I’m Sure I’ll Just Get A TON Of Responses To This One. September 5, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, keith, poop — lianadickson @ 8:21 pm

Keith and I are planning a weekend away, and we were wondering if anyone would like to watch Ellie bean for a couple of days.  We don’t have family in the area that would be able to watch her, so I figured I would throw  it out this way instead of cornering some unsuspecting person and having them feel awkward and like they can’t say no.  There are however a few rules that I am going to set forth:

1.  Keith and I must already know you.

2.  Keith and I must feel that you are capable of taking care of yourself/selves and another human being as well.

3.  You don’t have to have children of your own, but if you don’t you must have at least held, fed, changed, played with, read to, etc. another child.

4.  You must have a basic knowledge of child CPR.

5.  You must not be afraid of poop.

6.  You must not be opposed to watching the same animated movies 2-3 times per day, with a little Sesame Street and Elmo’s World thrown in.

That’s pretty much it.  Let me know if you are interested.  For the safety of my child I am not disclosing the actual weekend that we will be gone until there is someone interested.

So far today Ellie has gotten eggs and watermelon in her hair by turning her plate into a hat while I wasn’t looking.  These kinds of days scream for pigtails.

Who Is “Me”? September 4, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — lianadickson @ 2:22 pm

I love it that sometimes people I don’t know read my blog, and I love it even more when they comment.  I just got a comment today from someone who listed their name as “me”.  No blog address, no real name, no clue as to who they really are.  I am so curious as to who this person could be it’s driving me crazy.  I have no idea, but i do have a feeling that it is someone that I already know, and I think that it might be someone I went to high school with.  So come on “me”, if you are someone I already know tell me who you are.  If you would rather remain anonymous, I will understand that too.
