Keith and I are pretty big Dave Matthews Band fans, and we were going to get tickets for the show tonight at the Hollywood Bowl but because of several reasons we didn’t get tickets this year. Our first concert together was DMB, our first dance at our wedding was to a DMB song, even Eleanor is named after a song that Dave Matthews co-sang on. All that being said, we were very sad to hear that earlier this afternoon LeRoi Moore, the saxophonist/flute player/amazing musician for the Dave Matthews band passed away.
Yeah that bummed me out, he seemed like a cool, funny and mellow dude in all the interviews I saw. I would’ve been much less sad if the often ANNOYING violinist player had taken his place.

Ok, I will bite my tongue and say that I appreciate his violin in moderation and to be fair I should’ve mentioned I based my comment on a few *unofficial* live recordings where he is just way to loud and over the top with his repetitive violin noise.
So I guess I should be upset with the sound board operator for not mixing him properly. On studio albums and official recordings he meshes perfectly with the band.
I don’t know still bummed about LeRoi he was probably my 3rd fave member (behind carter and dave) and it will be interesting to hear how they are able to move on as a band.
