I am 29 years old, and for the first time in my life I learned how to skateboard. We were hanging out at the Huttons and the boys wanted to ride their skateboards. I told Mike that I had never learned how to ride a skateboard and wanted to know if he would teach me. He did, and while I am not very good I did tell Keith that I was going to practice and try to get in to the 2009 X-Games. Keith took some pictures of my lesson, and at the end I wasn’t that bad. However, I did use my arms a lot for balance. I looked a little like I was trying to walk on a tightrope. We started Ellie on some lessons while we were at it, but I think that she was just interested in learning because she wanted to wear the “hat”/helmet. Keith made me wear the helmet while I was riding because if I didn’t I would be setting a bad example for the kids, and also since I am not very graceful there was a good chance that I might fall and at least if I was wearing a helmut then my brains wouldn’t get all over the road if I fell.

now that you’ve mastered skateboarding, you should try surfing. It’s more fun AND, most importantly, it hurts A LOT less when you fall. Well, most of the time…
