Look @ Me, Look @ Me!

The Complete And Utter Randomness That Is My Life.

2 Tired 2 Blog. June 29, 2008

I’m exhausted.  It’s been a busy weekend full of work.  Even though it’s only 8:00, I think I’m going to bed.  As Ellie-bean would say, “Nigh, nigh”.

Only One Nap, Ugh. June 27, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, sad, sleeep — lianadickson @ 4:29 pm

I’ve been waiting for the time to come when Ellie would go down to just one nap a day.  It used to be that when she would take two naps per day, that meant that I got to take a nap when she took her first one, and then clean the house when she took her second one.  Well, now I have to fit both of those things into the time it takes her to take one nap.  I know I should consider myself really lucky that I even get to take a nap during the day, but those who know me well know how much I enjoy my sleep. What most people consider a nap is not nearly long enough for me.  Unless I can nap for at least 2 hours, it’s not enough.  I’ve been like this my whole life.  I remember coming home from school and putting on my pajamas (remember this is in the afternoon), and sleeping for a couple of hours before doing my homework.  I need my sleep.  Well, I guess I’m going to have to learn how to get by.  Oh no, I just thought about something awful.  What happens if Keith and I have another child and Ellie and the new one never share the same nap time.  I think that just might be the worst thing ever.

Wanna Play Dress-up? June 25, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, hanging out — lianadickson @ 8:44 pm

Ellie likes to explore, and often that exploring leads to emptying drawers, bags, bins, buckets, whatever.  This time she got in to the closet for Goodwill and decided she wanted to wear one of my skirts.  So we turned it in to a lovely evening gown for her.  Now all she needs is some swanky black tie baby event to go to.  However if she does go to a fabulous event we will probably have to do something about the sweaty baby hair look.  It just doesn’t scream “formal”.

Yup, She’s Her Daddy’s Girl. June 25, 2008

Last night I went in to check on Ellie before I went to bed and this is what I saw.  Notice the hand down her shorts, I thought for sure that Keith had done that to make me laugh because he knew that I would check on her.  I was wrong.  It was all her.

We Have A Name! June 24, 2008

Well I didn’t get a ton of people dying to name our new pet fish.  And those suggestions that I did get unfortunately didn’t excite me very much, so I hate to say it but no one will be receiving free enchiladas.  We did however decide on a name ourselves tonight…because I know you all were soooo concerned.  Our fish’s name…wait for it…is…Petrozza.  We took it from the show Hell’s Kitchen for any of you who don’t watch it.  So now that he? has a name we are officially a family of four, Keith, Liana, Ellie & Petrozza.  I think it sounds good.

Save The Redheads! June 24, 2008

Filed under: believe it or not — lianadickson @ 11:04 am

That’s right people, the redheads are a dying breed.  I had heard about this before and last night it was brought up again.  In about 100 years supposedly there will be no more redheads on the planet  because of it being a recessive gene.  There is actually a website devoted to trying to save the redheads.  This made me wonder if hundreds of years ago there were other hair colors that we don’t know about today because they have died out.  Now being a brunette myself I have done my part by marrying a redhead and procreating.  And I think that we may have successfully added a number to the redhead population.  So if you have red hair, and are not yet married, please consider finding yourself a fellow redhead to spend the rest of your life with.  Gentlemen, as far as I know Lindsey Lohan is not yet married.  And ladies, I think Carrot Top may be on the market.

Welcome To Our Family…We’ll Try Not To Kill You. June 22, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, keith, pets — lianadickson @ 10:44 pm

Yesterday Keith and I made a big decision.  We got our first pet.  Most couples get a pet first to make sure that they are capable of caring for another life before they decide whether or not they can care for a child.  Not us though, we’ve done the kid thing and if our track record with caring for plants is any evidence it’s amazing that Eleanor made it past her first birthday.  So we got our first pet…it’s a fish.  We thought Ellie would be excited about it, but when I showed her the bag she pushed it back at me and said “No!”.  Anyway, we don’t have a name for our new family member yet, and we’re not sure if it’s a boy or a girl.  I tried to look between it’s fins to see, but I couldn’t get a good look.  This is where we need your help.  I would love it if people would give me their recommendations for our new loved one’s name.  The person who suggests the name that we like the best will win a fabulous prize…a dozen enchiladas.  I’m not kidding, you will really win a dozen enchiladas.  Don’t ask why, it’s another story in it’s self.  So lets go people.  Get those name ideas flowing.

Keith found this game online and introduced me to it.  It just screams “I’M A GROSS BOY!!!”  Check it out.

Vacation Recap. June 20, 2008

Filed under: ellie-bean, family, friends, hanging out, keith, other peoples kids, outings — lianadickson @ 9:50 pm

We’ve been back from vacation for a few days now, and I’ve had other stuff that I would rather write about which is why it has taken me this long to post about our trip.  Plus I knew that this post would take a while because of all of the pictures we took, so I was dreading having to take the time to sit down and do it.  But here it goes.  In order to not bore you all to death I will just get straight to the goods…the pictures.  That’s pretty much all I like to see when I look at other peoples blogs anyway.  For those of you who did not already know, we went on a two week vacation to visit our families.  We spent one week with my family and the second week with Keith’s.  Here you go, enjoy.

Ellie made some new friends.

Keith made a masterpiece out of Ellie’s blocks.  If you look closely you can see the picture frame he put on the inside of one of them.

We had some fun at the Exploratorium…once we finally got there.

Keith found this lovely picture of me looking like a 13 year old country singer/harlot while we were at my dad’s house.

Ellie’s not too sure about my grandparents.  Probably because I warned her that my grandpa likes to pick on EVERYONE.

We hung out with my friend Ann and her husband Jeff.  Also, Ellie got to meet one of her potential suitors, their little boy Cole.  They got acquainted by showing each other their tummies.

While we were staying at my mom’s house she had a yard sale.  I couldn’t resist taking pictures of some of the “fabulous” items up for grabs.  Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get the picture of the Eddie Murphy audio cassette to upload.

It was during all this that my mom thought it would be a great idea for me to look through all of my old stuff that she has been storing for me, and decide what I wanted to keep.  In there we also found some pretty awesome stuff that gives you a little look into my youth.

We set up a little pool for Ellie so she could stand in it for two minutes and then decide she didn’t like it.

Ellie and Keith played “hats”.

Ellie ate a human being popsicle.  It just looks like blood.

Then we went to Keith’s parents house where Ellie continued to make a mess of herself.

Ellie also did her Macaulay Culkin impression for us.

Then she had a tea party.

One day we went to the beach.

Ellie also got to play with her cousin Miles and Keith’s parents dog Missy.

Overall it was a pretty awesome vacation.

Remember The Title Of My Last Post? June 19, 2008

Filed under: Why?!?!, keith, makes me want to scream!, really? — lianadickson @ 8:58 pm

Well here we go again.  Before I begin I want you all to know that Keith told me that I could write about this, so please don’t think that I am an awful wife who just likes to write about what an incompetent person her husband is.  That being said, listen to what happened this time.  When Keith decided that he was going to try to work from home, he set up a website which also was the domain name for our e-mail addresses.  Yesterday we were not able to check our e-mail and Keith was not quite sure why.  Well tonight when I got home Keith informed me that the reason for this was because our domain had expired…or something like that, I don’t know the technical term, all I know is that a bill or something didn’t get paid.  No problem I thought, all that needs to happen is Keith will need to take care of getting it set back up.  I knew it would be no problem because the same exact thing happened to us last year.  Not the case this time.  It turns out that in the 24 hours in which we let our domain name expire…someone else bought it.  That’s right, someone else stole my e-mail address from right underneath me.  Now I know that whoever bought it obviously will not have access to the e-mails that I get sent, but at the same time, I don’t have access to them either.  When Keith told me this I was NOT happy.  Luckily I have another e-mail address, but all I could think about was how now I have to get my other e-mail out to everyone I know and to any business that has my “stolen” one.  Just then Keith redeemed himself by saying, “You should just blog about it”.  So that is what I am doing.  I thought about just putting my other e-mail address in this post, but something about that just didn’t feel right.  Therefore, if anyone is interested in sending me any e-vites or chain letters you can leave me a comment and I will get the address to you.  Some of you may already have it.  I’l give you a hint, it has a color in it.  OOOOOOOH, sneaky.  Anyway, I’m still pretty bummed about the whole thing, which inspired the picture below.  But then I just remember that God will never give us more than we can handle.  OK, maybe I’m being a little dramatic.
