I Need A Nap. May 3, 2008

This morning I was up for work at 4:00 am as I am on most Saturdays however, This Saturday’s shift did not end with a nap.  Oh no, there was lots to do.  

For the last couple of years Starbucks has gotten together a bunch of people to walk/run in the Relay For Life at CSULB.  The objective is to raise money for cancer research.  After I got off work I went home, picked up Keith and Elle, and cruised over to my alma mater and since I don’t run unless I’m being chased, we walked around the track for an hour.  Ellie was in a stroller most of the time of course.  She did pretty well up until the last 15 minutes when she decided that she had had enough and screamed for two laps around the track.  After that we were supposed to take Ellie’s 12 month pictures which we keep postponing (she’s 16 months old), but we decided to skip it again because Keith had work to do.  Once we got home I laid down and closed my eyes for probably about 15 minutes…big mistake.  Our day was not over and the nap which was way too short just made me grumpy.  There are three things in life that can make me grumpier than anything else; being tired, being hungry, and being too hot.

  

 

Once I composed myself and stopped being so bitter it was off to Bret & Amanda’s house for our monthly dinner party and a little Wii.  I started out strong by beating Jarrid in a little Olympic fencing, but after that my reign of victory quickly came to an end.  The boys also thought it would be funny to relax their faces and shake them back and forth like crazy while taking a picture.  I did it to, but I’ll just say that the picture was too inappropriate to post.
